Porcelain Tile Polishing Residue in Concrete as an Additive or Replacement for Portland Cement

In this study, 10–50% of porcelain tile polishing residue (PPR) was used as an additive or partial replacement cement in concrete. The consumption kept constant by correcting the amount sand for each mixture. Concrete workability (slump) reduced up to 88.72% when PPR replaced 30%, while it only 4.10% added concrete at same levels. Compressive strength 28 days increased 92.22% with 50% additive, reducing equivalent emission CO2 per m³ 38.18%. incorporation water permeability 30.70% and 17.54% addition replacement, respectively. Overall, substitution levels 10–40% presented themselves viable solutions developing more resistant durable concretes than reference mixture (without PPR).
